Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Debbie’s Delights. By placing an order, booking services, or purchasing our products, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Business Overview

Debbie’s Delights produces and sells baked goods, pastries, Nigerian small chops, and catering platters. All items are made in compliance with food safety standards.

2. Ordering

  • Orders can be placed via our website, social media, email, or phone.
  • All custom orders (cakes, platters, bulk items) require full payment or a deposit to confirm the order.
  • Orders are considered “confirmed” only after payment is received and a written confirmation has been sent.

3. Deposits

  • Custom cakes and bulk catering require a 50% deposit minimum.
  • Deposits are non-refundable, as ingredients and prep begin immediately.
  • Remaining balances must be paid before pickup or delivery.

4. Pricing

  • Prices are subject to change without notice.
  • Quotes are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices may vary based on design complexity, ingredient availability, or seasonal costs.

5. Allergies & Food Safety

We take allergies seriously, however:

  • Our products may contain or come into contact with wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, gluten, soy, and other allergens.
  • We do not guarantee allergen-free products.
    Customers with allergies consume at their own risk.

6. Delivery & Pickup

  • Delivery is available within Greater Vancouver for a fee.
  • Delivery fees are determined by distance, time, and order size.
  • Once an order is picked up or delivered, it becomes the customer’s responsibility.

7. Quality & Storage

  • Food products are perishable and must be stored properly.
  • Instructions for reheating, freezing, or serving will be provided when applicable.
  • We are not responsible for incorrect handling or improper storage after pickup/delivery.

8. Photography & Promotion

Debbie’s Delights reserves the right to use images of our products for marketing and promotional purposes on social media or our website.

  • Client photos may only be used with permission.
  • You may request that images of custom work not be shared publicly.

9. Event Catering

  • Final guest count must be confirmed 7–10 days before the event.
  • Any changes after this period may incur extra charges.
  • In case of event cancellation, deposits are not transferable or refundable.

10. Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • Incorrect information provided at time of ordering
  • Allergic reactions after disclosures
  • Damages caused by transport after pickup
  • Loss food stability due to customer storage or handling

Return and Refund Policy

Food products are perishable.
Because of health and safety laws, we are not able to accept returns or issue refunds once food has been delivered or picked up.

However, we believe in fairness and customer satisfaction. Please review the policy below.

1. Cancellation — Standard Orders

  • Orders canceled 48+ hours before pickup/delivery may be eligible for a partial refund.
  • Orders canceled less than 48 hours before are non-refundable due to prep and ingredient costs.

2. Cancellation — Custom Orders & Cakes

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • If you cancel after production has started, the order is considered non-refundable in full.

3. Product Issues

If there is an issue with your order:

  • Contact us within 24 hours of pickup/delivery.
  • Provide a description and clear photos.
  • We evaluate issues case-by-case.

We do not issue refunds for:

  • Taste preference
  • Personal expectations not discussed in advance
  • Damage caused after pickup/delivery
  • Failure to store items as instructed

4. Incorrect or Missing Items

If we made a mistake:

  • We will replace the item, refund the item value, or offer a credit of equal value.
  • Replacement depends on product availability and timing.

5. Event Catering Refunds

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • Orders canceled less than 7 days from event are non-refundable.
  • Scheduling changes depend on availability and may incur additional charges.

6. Customer Responsibility

We are not responsible for product quality affected by:

  • Late pickup
  • Uncollected orders
  • Weather if customer-arranged pickup/delivery
  • Mishandling or incorrect storage

7. Frozen/Pre-prepared Items

For items sold frozen or reheated:

  • We provide recommended storage and prep instructions.
  • We are not liable for quality issues caused by improper thawing, reheating, or storage.
